Wawanosh Valley

Cedar Lowlands and Hemlock Forest

The Wawanosh Valley Conservation Area, location of the WawanoshNature Centre, is an area highlighted by a scenic 3 km trail loop. The trailcrosses the Belgrave Creek, passes through meadows with hedgerowplantings and down a steep hill to the cedar lowlands at the river.

A boardwalk leads through the hemlock forest to the upland hardwoodsor red pine plantation. Follow the edge of the forest back to the parkinglot area. Maitland Valley Conservation Authority is the trail contact.

Driving Directions

County Rd. #4 North of Blyth to Nature Centre Road, turn left(west). About 7 km on right.
